Holly Grove Ruritan Club
Community people meeting community needs

For 50 years, Holly Grove Ruritan has supported our community through fund-raising efforts and special events. Each year the club provides ball fields and lighting for local Little League, sponsors T-Ball, awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors, donates and delivers goody baskets to special families at Christmas, donates and delivers Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas presents to those less fortunate and makes donations to a variety of local organizations.  We raise the money through our four bingo nights each year, operating a refreshment stand during baseball and softball games and in 2010 held our first Annual Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. We meet the second Thursday of each month for a covered dish business meeting at the club's building. These meetings, along with the other activities, give us a chance to spend time with our neighbors and friends. The building also serves as a meeting place for many youth groups in our area. The playground area is a part of Louisa County Parks and Recreations but is maintained by the club and open to the public from dusk to dawn. We also have made a walking trail around our property that is used by many people in our community.
